Couldn’t have just hired someone else, no?
Love Island is a highly produced show.
This we are all aware of. It does not need to be explained to us.
Despite this, the production on Love Island is generally more subtle than that of other reality TV shows like TOWIE or Made in Chelsea.
That’s why we love if so much – because even though we know it’s not real, it could still potentially be real.
Last night, however, there was no way that Love Island was even a little bit real, because the Beach Club happened – and it was essentially a set built on top of a hill with a few people hired to look like bar staff.
And one of those people happened to be the woman who ‘played’ the shopkeeper that Anton randomly decided to give his number to.
Of course.
Here’s the woman who was in the shop who Anton apparently fancied.
And here’s one of last night’s bar staff in the Beach Club, ie: the same woman.
Couldn’t have even gotten her to take her glasses off lads, nah? Sound.
Now, in the real world if a lad had given his number to a woman, had a fight with whoever he was dating about this event, and then proceeded to see the woman in the club again the very next night, a simple fact like that would be hard to ignore.
However, this is Love Island and we, the humble viewer, must pretend that the above simply did not happen.
For the good of the show, lads.
For the good of the show.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
