The audience at the Galway Film Fleadh this summer will be among the very first to see the new film, Life’s a Breeze, from director Lance Daly, he of Kisses fame. The Film Fleadh will take place from the 9th to the 14th of July.

Scheduled for an Irish cinema release date on the 19th of July, Life’s a Breeze will have its World Premiere at the festival.

Life’s a Breeze is a feel-good “recession comedy” about a family struggling to stay afloat and stay together despite the hard times in Ireland. The plot revolves around Colm, played by Pat Shortt, his aging mother, (Fionnula Flanagan) and his niece Emma, (Kelly Thornton) who must overcome their differences to lead their family in a race against time to find a lost fortune.

The production will feature the creme de la creme of Irish acting talent with performances from  Eva Birthistle, Gerry McCann, Philip Judge, Lesley Conroy, Peter Coonan, Brian Gleeson, Paul Ronan, and a sparkling performance from newcomer Kelly Thornton.

The film also includes cameos from presenters and household names, Ryan Tubridy and Joe Duffy.

Life’s a Breeze producer Macdara Kelleher commented: “We are delighted that Life’s A Breeze will be the first major release for Wildcard Distribution.  Life’s A Breeze is just a really great example of Irish film at its best that can hold its own alongside other great Irish films like The CommitmentsThe Snapper and The Guard.”

The film was produced by Dublin-based Fastnet Films, with the support of The Irish Film Board / Bord Scannán na hÉireann, and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
