Author Liane Moriarty’s Nine Perfect Strangers is being turned into a TV series

Nicole Kidman is also set to star.

Hulu have commissioned a series based on Nine Perfect Strangers, the latest book by Big Little Lies’ author Liane Moriarty.

Deadline report that the series is currently expected to premiere in late 2020.

The description for the book reads:

The retreat at health-and-wellness resort Tranquillum House promises total transformation.

Nine stressed city dwellers are keen to drop their literal and mental baggage, and absorb the meditative ambience while enjoying their hot stone massages.

Miles from anywhere, without cars or phones, they have no way to reach the outside world. Just time to think about themselves, and get to know each other.

Watching over them is the resort’s director, a woman on a mission. But quite a different one from any the guests might have imagined.

For behind the retreat’s glamorous facade lies a dark agenda – and these nine perfect strangers have no idea what’s about to hit them…

Nicole Kidman will star in the series as Masha, the director of the resort who is on a mission reinvigorate the guests’ tired minds and bodies.

The actress and producer Bruna Papandrea will develop the series via their respective production companies, Blossom Films and Made Up Stories.

 

The Dropout, starring and executive produced by Kate McKinnon, was also announced.

The drama will be based on the ABC News/ABC Radio podcast about Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos.

The two series’ join the list of the upcoming Hulu originals, which include Little Fires Everywhere, The Great, Looking For Alaska and Dolface.
