Our favourite Irish presenter is rumoured to be joining the Strictly line-up

We would LOVE to see this happen.

Laura Holland

Strictly Come Dancing

This would be great.

Laura Whitmore is said to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing line-up.

The Sun are reporting that she has signed up for the new series when it returns in September. A source revealed, “Laura loves the show and is partial to a dance on a night out so Strictly is a great fit.”

Earlier this year the Bray native announced that she would be quitting ITV’s I’m A Celeb Get Me Out Of Here Now, a show she hosted for five series from 2011 to 2015. Set in Australia, it’s the behind the scenes spin-off to the popular I’m A Celeb show.

She explained that her exit from the show was to concentrate on other work commitments and it was thought that she might become the new presenter of The Xtra Factor. But on Monday those rumours were put to bed when Matt Edmondson was confirmed as the new TV host.

So now that Laura isn’t going on to fill that role it would make sense for her to take part in Strictly. Caroline Flack, who once presented the I’m A Celeb spin-off show as well, competed in the 2014 series and came first. Other presenters to take to the dance floor in the past include Rachel Reilly, Denise Van Outen and Kirsty Gallacher.

Laura has yet to confirm the news but it would be a great addition to the show.

While The BBC have also got to confirm the news, they have revealed some new information about the show when it returns. They’ve revealed that three new performers will join the line-up of professional dancers. They include Russia’s Katya Jones, Spain’s Gorka Marquez and Ukraine’s Oksana Platero.

No doubt they will drip feed more information in the lead up to the return in September.
