Know anyone for this?
The best Late Late Show special, after the Toy Show of course, is the Valentine’s Day one. It’s been going for a few years now and always provides lots of entertainment for us at home. Sometimes it’s intentional, other times it is a fluke.
This year, the show has put out a special call out for ‘old school romantics’. They’re looking for couples who have been together for decades and are still very much in love.
The special airs on RTÉ One on Friday, February 9 and this year the show wants to celebrate love that has stood the test of time. The Late Late Show team is currently searching for those couples whose love stories have the potential to warm the hearts of the nation.
They’ve said:
“Are you a couple together for decades, sticking with each other through thick and thin, who know the true meaning of for better or worse? Or maybe you know a couple who could teach us all a thing or two about true love and what it takes to keep that flame burning and make a relationship last? The Late Late wants to hear from you.”
Host Ryan Tubridy added: “Next week is our Valentine’s Special, there will be a lot of youngsters, a lot of hormones, a lot of silliness and goofiness but we need love. We need old love, love that has lasted since the dawn of time. Those couples who met in the 1940s and 1950s and they are still together because they love each other and they mean it. We would love to hear their story.”
