Kate Middleton and Prince William broke royal tradition on their wedding night

Traditions and rules come as part and parcel of being a royal. Yes, it’s not all glamour when you’re a member of one of the most famous families in the world as there is a lot expected of you. I mean, we guess? However, Prince William and Kate, and now Prince Harry and Meghan are doing things their own way and bending the rules as they go. One example of that is the wedding tradition that Prince William and Kate decided to ignore after their nuptials back in 2011. According to The Express, royal couples traditionally head off on their honeymoon on the day of their wedding but William and Kate chose to stay overnight in Buckingham Palace instead. Yes, after a long night of celebrations in the palace, the pair decided to spend the night there rather than following tradition. Can you blame em? You'd be wrecked! And when they finally did jet off on honeymoon, it was ten days after their wedding thanks to William’s hectic work commitments at the time. When they did finally head away, they went straight to a private island in Seychelles. And it look well worth the wait.
