She may have won as Oscar but that’s not enough for officials in Turkey, who have axed her from a major tourism campaign due to “poor acting”.
Moore, who was named Best Actress at the Academy Awards this year for her role in Still Alice, had been hired to appear in a new $4m campaign entitled Home Of, in which she is seen taking a plane while reminiscing about a trip to Turkey in her childhood.
However, it is being reported today that the footage will not be used as officials were unimpressed with her performance and Moore refused to take part in a re-shoot.
According to The Guardian, the star was not a popular choice in Turkish parliament, with representatives slamming her “poor acting” and “depressive persona”.
