Presenter and comedienne Jennifer Maguire has announced that she has quit RTÉ’s Republic of Telly.

The hilarious mum-of-one revealed that she will not return this season, but instead will star in a spin-off sitcom for the national broadcaster.

Jennifer will not star in the sixth series of the show.

She told The Herald: “The show is back but I won’t be back. I’ve done it for seven years. It was very hard to say it, it was a very tough decision, but I won’t be back for this season”.

The 33-year-old, who also presents Breakfast Republic on 2FM, went on to spill the beans on her next project.

Jennifer stars alongside Bernard O’ Shea in Bridget and Eamon.

“Myself, Bernard and Jason Butler, who was our series producer for the last two seasons, are in the process of writing Bridget and Eamon, so we’ll be back with that.

“We’re in the process of writing it and it’s going into production and it’s around the same time as Republic of Telly. I couldn’t do both, so something had to give.”
