Jay Z and Linkin Park: two musical greats who came together for the album, Collision Course.
Of course, right now the music world is still mourning the loss of Chester Bennington after the singer died by suicide.
Bennington’s own band members put it best when they said that: “You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private, from around the world.
“Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the world to know that you were the best husband, son, and father; the family will never be whole without you.”
Another person that knew the singer very well is Jay Z because the duo worked together on that critically-acclaimed collaborative album, Collision Course.
In fact, the song Numb/Encore, a mash-up of Numb by Linkin Park and Encore by Jay-Z, won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the Grammy Awards of 2006.
With Jay Z headlining the recent V Festival, the iconic rapper decided to finish his set in the most emotional, moving and fitting way possible, by dedicating the ‘Encore’ to Bennington’s memory.
“Can I get some love for Chester tonight?” Jay Z said to the crowd before asking them to “make some noise so he can hear you in heaven”.
