Sara Goldfarb, played by Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, is a mother whose entire life revolves around infomercials, losing weight, and appearing on television.
Her son Harry (Jared Leto) spends his time concocting plans to fund his, his girlfriend Marian's (Jennifer Connelly) and their friend's (Marlon Wayans) drug habits, while also wandering the streets trying to push some of their own product.
As the movie's plot unfolds, the four characters find themselves in various states of desperation, mental instability, and physical sickness, eventually arriving at an end point that will leave you wishing you never switched on the film in the first place.
