James Corden sings Nothing Compares 2 U on stage with Coldplay, and it’s amazing

The crowd loved him!

Since launching Carpool Karaoke, it’s clear to see that James Corden loves music, and singing, but most of the time we hear him singing along to superstars like Adele and Jennifer Lopez. And while he clearly has a brilliant voice, it’s rare we get to see him sing live in front of such a massive crowd.

Coldplay performed at the Hollywood Rose Bowl on Sunday evening, which happened to be the day before James Corden’s birthday.

Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin invited James up on stage as an early birthday present, where he sang with the band.

Chris joked that James turned join being part of the band, and that instead he chose to ‘forge his own path’.

James then joined the band on stage to pay tribute to the late Prince.

When James arrived on stage he joked about the large crowd.

“I’ll be honest I didn’t know how big it was when I said ‘yes’, so I’m a little nervous” he said.

We’re not surprised that he was slightly nervous considering the stadium has a capacity of over 92 thousand.

James then sang the opening lines of Nothing Compares 2 U, and his voice was brilliant.

The duet between James and the band is fantastic, we could listen to it all day.

After they finished performing Prince’s hit, Coldplay and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to James and even brought out a cake.

It’s technically not the first time that James Corden sang with the Chris Martin, as earlier this year he took part in an episode of Carpool Karaoke. And they seemed to have a lot of fun.
