He’s come a long way.
We all know the hugely successful James Corden. If it’s not his Carpool Karaoke segments that get people talking then it’s his stand alone pieces and brilliant interviews with some of the biggest celebrities in the world.
But he had to start somewhere and luckily for us someone has unearthed a very old clip of him interviewing Meat Loaf. Back in 1995, James had a reporter role on the show Good Morning with Anne and Nick.
He opens the slot by saying, “I’ll be bringing you all the top gossip, plus an exclusive interview with Meat Loaf”, then it cuts to him reporting from a hotel in London where he has a chat with the singer over an English breakfast.
Just as he sits down Meat Loaf tries to break the ice by asking James if he likes marmalade but instead gets a nervous laughter from him.
James was only 17 years of age at the time and noticeably less confident than today. He’s trying his best but the interview is very awkward for all involved particularly because Meat Loaf is so animated and keeps throwing poor James some curve balls.

Now could you imagine a Carpool Karaoke with Meat Loaf? I would do anything for that!
