The cost to rent the Oscar’s red carpet is a little shocking, even if it’s being trod on by Hollywood A-listers.
The 87th Academy Awards take place on Sunday, and part of the main attraction is all the gossip, style and action on the red carpet.
So what’s the cost of the glamorous setting?
Well according to figures released from Box Office Mojo, FiscalTimes.com, The Hollywood Reporter and Reuters, it turns out the plush carpeting will set you back $30,000 for just one night.
The iconic carpet, which reaches 500ft in length and is 33ft wide costs $1.50 per sq foot.
Now we realise why we never see anyone eating or drinking in the spotlight… stains are not an option.
