IT smashed records over the weekend raking in an outstanding $117.2 million, making it (or IT) the biggest opening weekend of any horror film ever! Say what?! Yes 2001’s Hannibal is no longer at the top. In relation to R-rated films, IT only came second to Deadpool which made $132.4 million during box office opening. The film that was directed by Andy Muschietti, the same man behind the 2013 horror Mama, cast Bill Skarsgard as the iconic murderer, Pennywise the Clown, who it’s safe to say looks absolutely terrifying. Great job we say!
So, does this mean anyone who hasn’t seen it needs to ASAP? Em… probably. Prepare to be quivering in your boots everyone. And let’s hope no clowns decide to join in and contribute to our evening of fear and dread like we saw in parts of the US. Not okay.
