A major Gilmore Girls spoiler may have just been revealed on Instagram

It's the comeback TV event that Stars Hollow obsessives have been waiting for all year.

When Netflix announced last winter that it was commissioning four new movie-length instalments of Gilmore Girls - with the original creator-writer and almost the entire cast - fans went absolutely baloobas with excitement Last week Netflix officially announced the release date and a whole new wave of excitement unfolded. And now, it seems they’ve offered a massive spoiler on Instagram. A picture posted this week shows the set with a plate of pop-tarts and an apple.

To the innocent, uninformed eye it of course, means nothing – but committed Gilmore Girls connoisseurs will know that apples are the food Lorelai claims to crave when she is pregnant. In season 5, Lorelai reveals: “I don’t eat much fruit. I know I should, but I don’t have a hankering for it. Had it when I was pregnant with my first kid, though. Kept craving those apples.”

The Pop-tart appetizers also make an appearance in season one when Rory has a couple of classmates from Chilton over before a Bangles concert. As she’s handing over the plate, Lorelai says, “Pop-Tart appetizers to tide you over until the pizza comes” which some fans are speculating is just a touch of humour from the show. Either way one thought persists with eagerly awaiting fans.
