Secrets of the jungle have been revealed
I’m a Celebrity is returning to our television screens this evening, as we prepare to watch several stars compete and battle it out in order to be crowned king/queen of the jungle.
With 2024’s lineup including huge names such as Colleen Rooney, McFly member Danny Jones, Strictly star Oti Mabuse and N-Dubz’s Tulisa, this year’s show is set to be a good’un.
However, year after year, there’s one particular detail about the show that has left fans shocked.
While we do want to see the celebrities challenged, safety is the number one priority.
With forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms expected down under, the campmates need protecting which has led to viewers finding out that the jungle is, well, not an actual jungle.
It is in fact a set within the rainforest with a secret roof to allow the celebrities to shelter from the rain.
The terrain itself is described as a “lowland subtropical rainforest”.
As well as keeping the campmates safe, it also helps to keep all of the equipment dry.
Eagle-eyed viewers would’ve also noticed the canopy roof being lowered when campmates receive their stars for completing bush tucker trials.
One insider told the MailOnline however: “A lot of the camp is not under shelter – it’s not like the roof at Wimbledon.”
Former campmate Alison Hammond also recalled her experience in the jungle on the Saving Grace podcast, explaining that sunbathing is not an option.
She said: “There’s trees everywhere and also they’ve got this canopy for lighting.
“You feel like you’re on a camping film set but you can’t see the cameras.”
