House of Cards has revealed what happened to Kevin Spacey’s character

Keeley Ryan

After months and months of speculation, the fate of Kevin Spacey’s House of Cards character, Frank Underwood, has been revealed.

The political drama parted ways with Spacey late last year after there were multiple sexual harassment allegations made against him.

While the future of the series was initially thought to be in doubt, Netflix later clarified that they would be continuing with season six – just without Spacey.

House of Cards is due to return for its sixth – and final – season later this year, with Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) now president.

And it looks like new footage released on House of Cards’ Twitter account has revealed what actually happened to Frank.

The very short clip (it’s just 24 seconds long) shows Claire standing outside – as she tells viewers about her plans to build an everlasting legacy, now that she is president.

She coldly says:

“I’ll tell you this, though, Francis. When they bury me, it won’t be in my backyard. And when they pay their respects, they’ll have to wait in line.”

The camera then cuts to two graves: one for Calvin T. Underwood and one for Francis J. Underwood.

Whether or not Kevin Spacey’s character is really dead, though, remains to be seen – but it wouldn’t be surprising if they did kill him off.

  • House of Cards will return to Netflix on November 2.
