No matter how many times you’ve seen it, a festive viewing of Home Alone is always essential over the festive season.
While we’re confident that you can quote every single line from the iconic Christmas film, it’s highly unlikely that you’ve seen it with a live orchestra and choir before.
Granted, we’re not entirely sure if the choir is the same one that old man Marley’s granddaughter was singing with when Kevin dropped in for midnight mass, but we’re sure that the experience of seeing Chris Columbus’ with a live score is hard to beat!
Fans of the film will be delighted to know that John Williams’ charming and delightful score will be performed live to picture by The Orchestra of Ireland.
With over 100 performers, Home Alone in Concert is bound to be a popular event when it’s shown in Dublin, Mayo, and Kerry on the following dates.
30 November – The Royal Theatre, Castlebar.
1 December – The Convention Centre, Dublin.
2 December – The INEC, Killarney.
Tickets are priced €59.50 and they go on sale this Friday, 13 September at 9am via Ticketmaster.
Speaking about the event, the legendary John Williams said: “Ever since Home Alone appeared, it has held a unique place in the affections of a very broad public. Director Chris Columbus brought a uniquely fresh and innocent approach to this delightful story, and the film has deservedly become a perennial at Holiday time.
“I took great pleasure in composing the score for the film, and I am especially delighted that the magnificent Orchestra of Ireland has agreed to perform the music in this very special live presentation of the movie. I know I speak for everyone connected with the making of the film in saying that we are greatly honoured by this event… and I hope that the audience will experience the renewal of joy that the film brings with it, each and every year.”
