A Hollywood casting director is looking for people from Galway to appear in a new film about Mother and Baby Homes.
The upcoming film will be set in Tuam and casting director Fiona Weir Casting - who worked on three Fantastic Beasts films, six out of the eight Harry Potter movies, and Love Actually - is looking for locals to feature in it.
The film titled The Lost Children of Tuam follows the real-life story of Catherine Corless who discovered a mass grave of approximately 800 infants and young children found at the site of the former Mother and Baby Home in Tuam.
Both children and adults from Galway and in particular Tuam, are being sought to fill several roles in the film.
In particular, they are looking for kids – both boys and girls - from six to twelve years old, for various speaking and non-speaking roles, any appearance; and adults – both men and women – over the age of 60 for various speaking roles, any appearance. No previous acting experience necessary.
Actors must be available from mid-September until the end of October 2025 and, as the filming will take place in Ireland, they must be a full time resident of the country to apply.
