If you loved the book, and flocked to the cinema, then we might just have the news you’ve been waiting for... Gillian Flynn has revealed she would be very open to writing a sequel to the best-selling story, about Amazing Amy and her long troubled husband Nick. The story, which left fans following the troubled twists and turns in the Dunne marriage could see a second outing after the ending left many readers and viewers alike shocked by the turn in situation. Speaking about the possibility of a sequel, Flynn said: “There could be a sequel at some point if everyone is game to get the gang back together, it could be really fun a few years from now to pick it up and see what those crazy Dunnes are up to a few years down the road and if they got on — not well I don’t think.” The author also has strict conditions for doing a follow-up piece, including keeping the original cast who starred in the first instalment: “I would have to have the exact same people to do it — I would want Rosamund [Pike], Ben [Affleck] and [David] Fincher to do it.” If you’re hoping for a release date anytime soon though, you could be disappointed. Flynn is currently busy producing a TV show based on her novel Sharp Objects, as well as writing an adaptation of popular British drama Utopia for American audiences.
