Fans of the Malone family from Manchester are devastated to learn that the families dog Dave has sadly passed away.
The dog became legendary on the show, regularly leaving viewers in hysterics with his energetic and wholesome antics, such as when he knocked dad Tom off his chair during an energy burst.
On Wednesday, the mum of the family, Julie, took to Instagram to confirm the heartbreaking news writing: “
RIP Dave xxx There are no words to describe you, or how much you meant to us. This was you on Sunday waiting for your Dad to come back and he had only gone out to the car.”
She concluded: “We are all going to miss you so much.”
Thousands of people responded to the heartbreaking news with one writing: “Noooooo not Dave!!!!! He was the best on Gogglebox. Heartbroken is an understatement.”
While someone else added: “Dave! He gave us all a laugh and he was a beautiful doggie. So very sad for your family.”
“Gutted. It’s so painful when a beloved pet dies. Hoping you’re all okay,” a third wrote.
Son, Tom, also took to Instagram to share the tragic news writing: “Heartbroken to let you guys know that Dave has sadly left us today…I think we can all agree that there will never be another one like him. Rest Easy Dave.”
