“It’s a logistical nightmare.”
The cast members of Geordie Shore are known for their sexual antics and general debauchery.
And while it may seem like everything is fairly off the cuff, of the moment and spontaneous, the stars have revealed that before all, eh, encounters, there’s actually a very strict screening process.
According to Daily Star, there’s an awful lot boxes to tick before a cast member can enter the shag pad with a lucky lady.
Producers make sure that the show is all above board by insisting on checking the age of every lady before they appear on screen. The lad’s would-be-lovers are forced to prove their age with a passport. Then they are brought on camera where they must verbally express their consent and agree that it is likely that they will have sex on camera. Finally, the lucky ladies are forced to wait an hour to ensure they are sober enough to meet the boys.
Cast member Aaron Chambers explains:
They have to have a passport for ID. And they’ve got to go and film a video to agree they are probably going to have sex.
Then they have to sign a form. And then it takes them an hour or so to sober up before they can actually meet us.
Holly calls the whole rigmarole a nightmare.
It’s hard for the lads. They can’t just go out onto the dance-floor and chat to a girl. There are so many security issues. It’s a logistical nightmare.
Marty also revealed that the party lifestyle isn’t as liberated as it appears.
Aaron says that while the rules do cramp his style, they have to be put in place so that the show avoids an underage scandal.
He says he would rather have a system than have “some parent ringing up and complaining”.
Nathan reveals that if they do spot someone they fancy, they point them out.
“People think we have loads of people throwing themselves at us but we don’t,” he said.
“When we’re filming they can’t get close because of all the security.”
“If you see someone you like you have to point them out.”
“Then they have to chat with crew. And if they haven’t got their passport then they aren’t allowed to join us.”
