Jane the Virgin star says she felt ‘extreme guilt’ about masturbating

The Jane the Virgin star is talking about self-love.

Gina Rodriguez has previously spoken about her struggles with anxiety and self-confidence. The actress previously admitted that she struggled with being filmed bare-faced. However, the 32-year-old says she’s now ridded herself of much of the guilt she felt for various different reasons – especially when it comes to self-love.

Speaking with Bust magazine, the actress says she used to be riddled with guilt when it came to masturbations.

“In all honesty, I used to feel guilty for masturbating,” she told the magazine. “Oh my god, this extreme guilt! And that lasted way too long.”

Gina says much of her anxiety around the issue was due to the strict purity culture she was brought up in, but she no longer feels that way.

“It’s OK to look back in retrospect and be like, it wasn’t good that I felt bad about touching myself. And it isn’t bad that I want to share my love with my boyfriend. “I’m 32 years old, I’m an adult, I can do that!”
