Gemma Collins confirmed as the first contestant for Dancing On Ice

This will be TV GOLD.

Today, Gemma Collins and Richard Blackwood confirmed that they're taking part in this year's Dancing On Ice. Speaking on This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, the pair announced the news and it's fair to say the TOWIE star is only buzzing to get going.

"I really want to give it a go. I love the costumes. I love fun factor! “I’ve asked the producers to let me come out to Crazy in Love by Beyonce. “I’m fully committed, I’ve cleared my diary.”

So far, these are the only two names that we officially know will be taking to the ice, other names highly speculated include Love Island's Wes Nelson and Coronation Street's Jane Danson. However, these names have not been confirmed or denied... yet. The programme's release date has also been kept hush-hush but it's expected to return to our screens early January, with the 2018 series kicking off on January 7. Jake Quickenden who took home the crown earlier this year will also be returning to the show this season, crowning the new winner alongside his skating partner, Vanessa Bauer.
