This is too cute.

Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are officially engaged – and their announcement will make fans smile.

Rumours were sparked earlier this week that the couple were set to tie the knot after five years together.

And now the pair have confirmed their happy news with an announcement in The Times of London on Wednesday morning.

The notice – for a Mr KC (Kit Catesby) Harington and Miss RE (Rose Eleanor) Leslie – reads:

“The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”

The couple met on the HBO fantasy series in 2012, where they played the brooding Jon Snow and wildling Ygritte.

But while their on-screen romance ended in season 5, the couple have since gone from strength to strength.

They made their first public appearance together at the Olivier Awards in 2016 and moved in together earlier this year.

The Game of Thrones co-stars aren’t the first to take the print media route when it comes to sharing their happy news.

Olympian Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black previously announced their engagement in the same paper in October 2015.

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter went the same route in November 2014 to share their engagement news.

The Sherlock star said at the time that they put the announcement in the paper because it was the “normal” thing to do.

He told USA Today:

“It’s what I would have done if I wasn’t famous. It’s a normal thing to do in my country.

“It was a way of telling our friends who we hadn’t been able to tell before [they saw] some grainy shot of a ring on her finger.”
