Former Love Islanders speak about how the producers edit scenes from the villa

Eeeeeeek.

Oh, the DRAMA.

Love Island is a major success this year and while people are loving it, there have been some complaints about how the footage from the reality TV show is often edited extensively.

Two former Love Islanders, Frankie Foster from this year’s show and Theo Campbell from the 2017 series, appeared on The Wright Stuff to chat about their experiences.

Host Anne Diamond chatted to the pair about claims the show is ‘fixed’ and that certain scenes are edited or even cut from the show.

Frankie spoke about how people complained that they didn’t see enough of his and Samira’s relationship and that he’s been told they didn’t get enough airtime.

The couple’s visit to the hideaway wasn’t shown, more on that here, and according to Alex Miller, another ex-Islander, this was because there was “no drama” between the pair.

No drama, no TV time? The plot thickens.

Oh and just in case you’re wondering how Frankie and Samira have been getting on, they are “inseparable” since she left the show. CUTE.

Theo also chimed in to discuss why he thinks the show’s producers choose to edit certain items.

“Their edits were kind of to make their storyline fit a bit better. Because, obviously when they want a storyline to fit and for us to have a bit of confrontation between people, they show that part but they don’t show like obviously the conversations are quite long, you break it down, you explain what happens”.

Theo explained that people then understand the process and that this is part of the show, he also acknowledged that they can’t show everything and they have “to make it for the storyline”.

Hmm, there’s a lot going on and there’s sure to be more happening as the show nears the grand finale…
