The brief clip shows all of the murder suspects with Laura Nielson (played by Joanna Froggatt) saying: "There's a long list of people who had reason to kill him - I did not murder Andrew Earlham." This time last year, the writers of Liar gave some hints about what fans can expect in season two - and dropped a hint about when it will arrive on our telly screens. Harry and Jack Williams sat down with TV Times, where they promised fans who were frustrated by the cliffhanger would be "rewarded for their patience."“I did not murder Andrew Earlham!” Liar. "Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd are back. We’re delighted that anyone frustrated by the cliffhanger will be rewarded for their patience," they said [via GoodHousekeeping]. "Questions are answered and the title is central."
Based off previous hints, it looks like the second series will focus - at least a little bit - on the murder of serial rapist Andrew Earlham. The character was missing for a number of weeks before he was finally discovered, and the season will fill in the blanks of what happened during that time. Writer Harry Williams previously told The Mirror:“There are certainly a few suspects and we hope to explore that further. "Andrew has been missing for several weeks and then we see his dead body in the empty marshlands. "The question is: what happened in those missing weeks that led to Andrew’s demise?”Joanne Froggatt's Laura is one of the prime suspects so far, as is her sister Katy, one of Andrew's other victims DI Vanessa Harmon, or her recently-returned partner Jennifer. But Laura's ex-boyfriend Tom, who lost his job because of the accusations Earldom made against him, is also a suspect - as is his son, Luke, who lied to give his dad an alibi.
