Actor Max Martini, who starred in Captain Phillips, has joined the cast of Fifty Shades of Grey.
The actor (pictured right) will be taking on the role of a bodyguard for Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). Variety was first to report the news of the casting.
Martini starred as the Navy Seal leader in Captain Phillips and also had a lead role in Pacific Rim.
The already assembled cast also includes Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele), Eloise Mumford (Anatasia’s best friend Kate) and Luke Grimes (Christian’s brother Elliot). Jennifer Ehle will be Anastasia’s mother andVictor Rasuk will play José.
Director Sam Taylor-Johnson will be at the helm of the film adaptation of the EL James erotic novel.
Fifty Shades of Grey is expected to begin shooting in December but it won’t be seen on our screens until 2015.
