So finally Lee and Whitney tied the knot and unusually, they actually went through with it without much fuss.
Lee stayed true to his permanet frown and looked miserable throughout the entire affair.
But while most viewers of the show were happy to see the couple wed, all eyes were focused on Whitney’s new Mother-in-law Linda.
Linda, played by Kellie Bright, announced in September that she is expecting her second child in real life. The 40-year-old spoke to Inside Soap magazine at the time revealing that she would be leaving the soap for six months.
“I’ll be on maternity leave for six months. EastEnders were really flexible and left it entirely up to me. I didn’t want to be away forever but I also wanted enough time at home to enjoy my new baby,” she said.
But, in the soap, Linda is the vivacious pub landlady who was supposed to be enjoying her son’s wedding day. Up until tonight, all efforts had been made to conceal her bumb. A questionable costume choice however made her real-life baby bumb very obvious and confused many a viewer.

Linda will be set to leave the square in the coming weeks and fans are already anticipating the storyline.
Previously Mick and Linda left the Vic to care for Linda’s sick mother and most believe the landlady will be absent as she cares for her mum. A much darker theory shared on the Eastenders Eye Blog suggests that Linda’s son Lee is set to die by suicide leaving Linda heartbroken and in need of a break away.
But fans needn’t worry, Kellie promised she would return to the show as soon as possible.
And for those of you that want to know, I will be returning to @bbceastenders after I’ve had the baby #queenvicismyhome #LindaCarter4ever xx
