We’d know that bridge anywhere!
Fans of Taylor Swift are convinced she’s living the high life in Donegal after posting a selection of stunning images over the weekend. The superstar posted on Instagram and Twitter on Saturday to mark the one year anniversary of her celebrated album, Folklore, and it wasn’t long before eagle-eyed fans spotted a distinctive landmark. A footbridge can be seen in the background of one image which Donegal natives will recognise as Ballymastocker Bay in Portsalon.
It’s been 1 year since we escaped the real world together and imagined ourselves someplace simpler. With tall trees & salt air. Where you can wear lace nightgowns that make you look like a Victorian ghost & no one will side eye you cause no one is around https://t.co/4Gfmh9hXDs pic.twitter.com/MmsujVaV83

It wouldn’t surprise us if the singer had visited, or is currently visiting, the beautiful peninsula as it was recently named as one of Ireland’s best beaches to visit by Lonely Planet. Although we can’t confirm when the pictures were taken, we do know that Taylor’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn is starring in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s debut novel, Conversations with Friends.
The show was filming in Belfast back in May so, maybe a road trip around Irish beaches was on the cards for the pair? Of course, you can’t believe everything you see on social media so presently, it’s hopeful speculation that the singer has taken a liking to Ireland and has been holed up here for the pandemic.
It wouldn’t be the first time, back in 2018 Swift and Alywn visited Ireland around Christmas staying in Glin Castle, which is owned and managed by Dominic West.
As a nation, we’re famous for leaving celebrities to their own devices, which must be why so many continue to flock to our shores (we miss you, Matt Damon). I think we can all agree that we’d be honoured if Taylor Swift decided to make Ireland her home, we’ll just have to wait and see if she pops up around Seapoint with an iconic Supervalu bag.
We can dream.
