Emmerdale has paid tribute to Harry Whittaker, the little boy who played Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk’s son Leo on the show.

Last night’s episode was dedicated to the toddler who passed away last week. It finished with a photograph of him along with the message: “To Harry, With Love”.

Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon, also tweeted the above picture and wrote: “Our superhero. We were lucky to know you and hear you laugh. You lit up our lives, dearest, loveliest Harry”.

A spokesperson for the soap said following the news: “Very sadly we can confirm Harry Whittaker’s passing last Tuesday 1st July. We will all miss him greatly and have offered our sincerest condolences to his family at this very sad time”.

Harry and another child, Theo Tasker, played the character of Leo who made his first appearance on the soap back in May 2011.
