EastEnders star Kellie Bright has spoken out about what’s in store for her character Linda Carter in the coming weeks.
The actress told Digital Spy that the festive period is going to be busy for her onscreen family: “There is a lot going on and it’s very dramatic.”
Linda confides in Stacey about what happened to her.
Speaking about the moment that Stacey finds out that Linda was raped, she explained: “It’s a slow development and it doesn’t just come out of one scene. Stacey recognises something in Linda as she has also been raped in the past, so she gets Linda to open up about what has happened to her.”
As for the impact of the assault on Linda, Kellie says it’s life-changing: “What happened to Linda has changed who she is as a human being. I don’t just mean Linda’s outlook on life – I mean who she is day-to-day.”
The Carters are in for a dramatic Christmas.
She continued: “It has forced Linda into becoming someone I don’t think she recognises any more, but she has gone so far down that road that it feels impossible for her to come back from it. She is at a point where she thinks, ‘I don’t know how to tell anybody any more.’
“What happened has changed Linda forever and it will change the people around her – who she loves the most – forever too. She doesn’t want to destroy the beauty of who those people are and what they have.”
