Danny Dyer has spent the first weeks of 2015 living in a hotel, amid speculation that his relationship is in tatters.
The actor, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in Eastenders, is staying at the Manor Hotel in Borehamwood, just thirty minutes away from the Essex home he shares with girlfriend of 23 years Joanne Mas and their three children.
He has remained at the venue, which is located six minutes from the soap’s set, for the past two weeks and the unusual move has sparked rumours that the couple’s tempestuous relationship is on the rocks.
“Its’ a mystery why he’d spend the first two weeks of 2015 in a hotel. ‘It is a bit strange that he would choose a hotel over his own house with the missus and kids. It’s more like an EastEnders storyline than real life,” a source told The Sun.
Dyer has been at the centre of several cheating scandals during his relationship with Mas, who was spotted visiting the hotel last Friday night.
However, she has denied that the couple are experiencing problems, saying that he has moved to closer to the Eastenders studios to prepare for the show’s upcoming live episodes.
“He has been at the Manor House but that’s more for EastEnders. Danny’s due home today. So print your pictures, I don’t give a s***!”
The 38-year-old also gushed about her partner in a recent interview with The Mirror, saying “Danny has never not loved his kids. He has never not loved me”.
“I wear the trousers in the relationship. I’m a “nice” bully and the boss of the house. Danny is so chilled. I read articles about him and I think, “That’s not my Dan”.
“He’s made out to be this bad boy but that’s not the Danny I live with. People might think I’m walking round the house with armour to protect myself but it’s not like that. He’s calm, he’s chilled.”
