EastEnders star Ben Hardy has landed a role in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, according to reports this morning.
While it has not been revealed who the actor will play in the superhero sequel, Variety reports that it is a well-known character.
This is Ben’s first major film role and it will see him starring alongside the likes of James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence.

The news comes a day after his final scenes for EastEnders were aired. His onscreen alter-ego Peter Beale left Albert Square for New Zealand.
X-Men: Apocalypse, which is due for release in 2016, will apparently introduce younger versions of established characters such as Cyclops and Storm.
