It looks like we could be waving goodbye to one of Walford’s favourite couples as Kat and Alfie Moon pack up their bags and decide to move to Hull.
In tonight’s episode they are advised by the council to move to Hull to avail of emergency housing as there is a long waiting list for accommodation in Walford.
Despite wanting to stay put, they have no other option than to move and they’re not the only ones who aren’t happy about the decision.
The couple decide to leave in order to get housing.
Stacey gets upset when she discovers that the pair, played by Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie, weren’t planning on saying goodbye.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the storyline, Shane revealed that it leads to a big secret coming out (that he was the one who started the fire that left Kat scarred).
Stacey runs into Kat and Alfie leaving the square.
He explained: “For Alfie, there’s always a bright side and Hull is not far from the sea. So it’s a new start and a new beginning for Kat and Alife in Hull, but they try to keep it low-key because Alfie knows Stacey is still pushing him to say something.”
He added: “Alfie thinks it’ll be okay if he can get Kat away from the Square… He’s happy to go to Hull, but right at the last minute, something happens and it’s the big reveal. Kat finds out!”
