The cast of hit TV soap EastEnders have been highly praised this weekend following a flawless 30-minute live show on Friday night.

There had been a few giggles during the week following some blunders by actors throughout the live scenes, but Friday’s evening’s episode went off without a hitch much to the delight of fans.

It also has set up a number of other storylines that prove there will be more drama ahead for the residents of Albert Square.

In what was an emotional week, Bobby Beale was revealed as the killer and though Jane tried to cover for her son, Ian finally found out the truth.

The distraught father went along with the plan to cover up the murder particularly as Bobby does not even realize what he has done.

“He thinks she got up and walked out the door, and that is what Jane has said to him,” said show boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins.

“The fact Bobby didn’t deliberately do it and it was an accident is very, very important. I wouldn’t lumber a child with that,” he continued.

The background behind Lucy’s death was also revealed as Jane tells Ian that Bobby had hit her with a box.

“He said he heard the arguing that night, he couldn’t sleep,” a tearful Jane said. “He said she was writing something, he wanted her to stop causing trouble.

“He picked up the box, she fell, he couldn’t wake her, he said he tried all on his own and that’s when he called me,” she added.

Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, was certainly the shining star of the show in an episode where emotions were running high as the Beale family found out the real truth behind Lucy’s death.

Fans took to Twitter to congratulate the stars for a brilliant performance.

The episode pulled in a whopping 9.97 million viewers, with 10.25 million viewers during its peak.

It was also revealed that actor Eliot Carrington – who plays Bobby Beale – only found out on Monday that he was the killer and was sworn to secrecy until the big reveal on Thursday night.

Elsewhere, there were a number of other bombshells in last night’s episode including what seemed to be a lifeless Dean Wicks lying on the floor of the Queen Vic’s back room, the Carters’ engagement and Phil Mitchell dropping in to reveal that Kathy is actually alive.

Show insiders have said that next week’s episodes are set to be even more explosive.

Phew. That’s a whole pile of drama and we can’t wait to see what happens next!
