The film is finally available on Netflix

Having become embroiled in several tabloid controversies upon its cinema release, Don’t Worry Darling is now available to stream at home on Netflix.

Directed by and featuring amongst its cast Olivia Wilde, the psychological thriller stars Florence Pugh (Little Women, Midsommar) as Alice, a young woman living what appears to be a dream life with her husband, Jack (Harry Styles), in an idyllic company town.

However, a series of strange events leads Alice to suspect that beneath the shiny veneer of her surroundings lies a sinister secret and that Jack’s boss (played by Chris Pine) is involved in the deception.

Given the intriguing premise and the talent involved in the movie (other cast members include Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne and Nick Kroll), anticipation was extremely high for Don’t Worry Darling.

However, the film’s release wound up being overshadowed by various controversies. These included conflicting reports regarding Shia LaBeouf’s exit from the thriller – he was originally cast in Styles’ role – and rumours of a falling out between Pugh and Wilde.

Plus, there was also the viral video that led many to believe that Styles spat on Pine during Don’t Worry Darling’s Venice Film Festival premiere – something which Pine later denied as having happened.

Following all this, the movie arrived in cinemas to mixed reviews but was a box office hit, earning $87.6 million on a $35 million budget.
