Believe it or not, it’s only 53 days until Christmas.
Now that Halloween is well and truly over, it will be soon time to crack out the Christmas decorations.
We notice the evenings getting longer and darker and see ads on the TV for more Christmas-themed things.
Today, we’ve been gifted the Burberry Christmas trailer which stars Sienna Miller, Lily James and Domhnall Gleeson.
The video is called The Life Of Thomas Burberry, but instead of it being a glittery, bouncy festive ad, it’s more like a trailer for a film. The three and a half minute clip seems to tell the story of the designer rather than spread festive cheer.
The ad was directed by Asif Kapadia who directed Amy Winehouse biopic Amy, details the life of Thomas Burberry and how he became inspired to design and make clothes.
Burberry chief executive officer Christopher Bailey explained the dramatic choice for this year’s Christmas ad
“This Christmas, as we celebrate our 160th anniversary we wanted to tell the story of Thomas Burberry – pioneer, inventor, innovator, and the man behind the iconic trench coat – in our own words…
“The film we have made is a brief glimpse inspired by his full and extraordinary life, which threaded its way through the history of the twentieth century in all its tumultuous highs and lows.”
People took to Twitter to voice confusion about the hyper dramatic trailer.
Burberry has launched its Christmas TV ad. It's a star-studded epic, but don't expect sackfuls of festive cheer https://t.co/iPOMp5JI4R

Saw my first Christmas (yes, I know) ad. That Burberry with Domhnall Gleeson is almost like a film trailer

Really though the #burberry ad is more like a movie trailer and nothing like a Christmas ad.. where's the Christmas in it??

Do you think it’s Christmassy enough? It seems pretty serious to us.
