The Payne is real for die-hard Directioners as Liam confirms solo record deal rumours.
I hadn’t witnessed anything quite like the reaction after One Direction called it a day last year – at least not since my older sisters lost the absolute rag when Take That packed it in.
Tear, tantrums, tweets and trolling – that was the order of events that spiralled following One Direction’s announcement to go their separate ways and it seems, History is repeating itself, as fans online are freaking out over Liam Payne signing a solo record deal with Capitol Records UK.
Payne shared the news with his 23.1 million followers on Twitter earlier today:
Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK. They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps pic.twitter.com/tVlDsXVVW3

In the happy tweet, Payne acknowledged the phenomenal talent Capitol had on its books:
“They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps.”
The One Direction fandom wasn’t long kicking off. Cue the follow-up “I still love the band” tweet, which was just Perfect.
One direction will always be my home and family but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings.

We’re glad he’s happy about the decision, but the same can’t be said for the fans.
