Emmerdale's resident bad boy Michael Parr AKA Ross Barton has confirmed that he will not return to the ITV soap.
The news comes just days after fans of the heartthrob petitioned online to have the 29-year-old reprieve his rogue-ish role.
Michael revealed a new job on Twitter.
The actor has taken to Twitter to announce that he has in fact landed a new job. *Cue the sound of hearts breaking*.
He wrote: "Off to London now. Got a new job, can't say what it is but when we start rehearsals I'll let you know."
Fans of the soap will not be surprised that it's the end for Ross Barton, as he was dramatically beaten to death by his brother Pete two weeks ago.

However, the petition to bring him back has already garnered 3,000 signatures since being published this week, so it might be hard for producers to ignore.
The Yorkshire-based soap returns to ITV on Monday at 7pm.
