‘This is crazy’: Poor Dr Alex is bricking it ahead of tonight’s Love Island

In any other situation, Dr Alex would be beating away women with a stick. He's handsome, he's polite, he's goofy and he's an actual, real medical doctor. But in the Love Island villa, he just hasn't been able to catch a break. Alex has been on borrowed time for a while now, bouncing from girl to girl without ever managing to lock down a real romance. Last night's episode saw him going on a date with new girl Alexandra. The pair got on well but with new lads Idris and Kieran also sniffing around, it's far from a done deal. Without being in a couple, tonight's recoupling is the first time Alex actually been in real danger of going home and he's really feeling it. "This is crazy, either she picks me or I go home," he tells Sam and Georgia. "This is D Day for me. Do or get dumped." Chatting to Alexandra, Alex says he doesn't want to smother her and that she should get to know all the guys in the villa. "You’re so great because the place that I’ve grown up, the people that I’ve been around, your sense of humour - I just get it. You make me laugh so much," she tells him. "You are a bloody great guy. I need to make sure that within my heart that is how I feel also and I know you respect that." Later, in the Beach Hut, Alex is feeling quietly confident. "I am really positive, I’m going to continue being myself I’m not going to be OTT or laying it on factor 50, because that’s not me. I’m going to be Alex and if she likes Alex then we will get on well.” Meanwhile, Idris and Kieran are still grafting hard for Alexandra's affections. "It is quite difficult with this recoupling, hopefully she’ll pick the right person," Idris says in the Beach Hut," Idris says. "I’m a positive guy. She will pick me.” Each of the three guys will get up close and personal with her in tonight's challenge, a sexy fire man-themed rescue mission.
