A former couple have found a “second chance at love” after accidentally meeting on TV dating show Take Me Out.
Looci Somah was left gobsmacked during an appearance on the show when her ex-boyfriend Nick walked on to the stage, with the female stars then asked to leave on their light if they were interested in a date with him.
The circus performer from Leeds previously dated Nick for two years and “broke his heart” when she decided to break up with him over their different plans for the future.
“We started arguing about little things and I realised Nick wasn’t always supportive of my career, often getting jealous of blokes in the audience when I performed at shows,” she said.
Somah admits that she had compared all of her boyfriends to Nick since their split and decided to leave her light on… with Nick eventually choosing her over the other ladies for his date.
“When Nick came down the lift, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. I recognised his t-shirt before he’d even stepped onto the studio floor,” she said.
“I thought if I don’t give Nick another chance I’ll regret it.”
The pair were sent away on a holiday to Tenerife and Looci said that the trip went very well.
“It took all my self-control not to call him ‘babe’ like I used to. We held hands as we caught up. I told Nick about the house I’d bought in Leeds. I wasn’t surprised to hear he was still living in Pontefract,” she said.
“Our date was amazing, and I couldn’t believe what an incredible time we had together. I felt so lucky we’d been given a second chance at love.”
The couple will appear on ITV’s Take Me Out this Saturday.
