Just a few weeks ago we had the news that Roy Cropper will be taking a break from the cobbles, and now, it sounds like another Corrie legend is about to follow in his footsteps.
According to reports, Eileen Derbyshire, who plays Emily Bishop on the long-running soap, will take a break from the Street in 2016.
The actress has played Emily since 1961 and is the longest-running female cast member on the street.
She has reportedly asked producers for a six-month break and, according to The Sun, will take a break early in the New Year.
What on earth is Norris going to do without her?!
Meanwhile Carla Connor (played by Alison King) is also said to be taking an extended break in 2016.
The Street just won’t be the same at all, at all.
