She told Woman magazine: “I can’t imagine leaving Coronation Street – it’s the perfect job for me and there are a lot of reasons I’ve stayed for so long.
“I feel much more secure than I probably did 10 years ago, but you just don’t know how things are going to turn out, so I still worry a little about my contract being renewed every year.
“A new producer could come in and decide they don’t like my character, who knows?”
