‘Coronation Street’ is set to bring back one of its most notorious bad boys

He's broken hearts before and will do again...

He’s a real heartbreaker.

Here in Her towers, we can’t get enough of soap gossip.

Be it Eastenders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks or our absolute favourite Corrie, we could spend every minute watching them and gossiping about them after.

While on the cobbles of Corrie people come and go as if there’s a revolving door onset, one very important character is finally making his long-awaited return to the cobbles.

The Barlow family – currently consisting of Tracy, Amy, Ken and Simon – are sure to be rocked by the return of known troublemaker, gambler, alcoholic and resident lothario, Peter.

Peter was last seen in Weatherfield in 2014, with the small exception of attending Deirdre Barlow’s funeral last year.

According to Digital Spy, the former bookkeeper is due to make a permanent return to the street, rejoining his estranged son Simon and his grieving father Ken.

At a Coronation Street press event today, producer Kate Oates confirmed the news which will see the Barlow reunite as one of the strongest families on our screens.

“One of the longest-running families on that soap is the Barlows, and why would you not want to strengthen that family?

“I am excited to bring Peter back to the show, you do think, ‘I would like to work with that character and  that character’, and Peter is always one you want to work with.

“He has got such an amazing presence and such a great energy on screen.”

Fans took to Twitter to express their excitement at the bad boy returning to Weatherfield.
