Coronation Street Bosses Sack Actress Katie Redford

Coronation Street bosses have reportedly sacked Katie Redford after it was revealed that she may have lied about her age. Earlier today a spokesperson confirmed that the matter was being investigated and now it seems they have decided to sack her. According to The Mirror, an official statement said: “Coronation Street have taken the decision to recast the part of Bethany Platt.” Katie Redford will not be appearing in the soap. Last week it was announced that Katie would play Sarah-Louise Platt’s 14-year-old daughter Bethany when the onscreen duo return to the street this year. She was originally said to be 19 years old but public records then cited her date of birth as March 2nd 1989, making her 25 years old.
