Coldplay just paid tribute to Viola Beach at Glastonbury and it was emotional

Earlier this year, five British nationals have died in a car crash in Sweden, including the four band members of indie group Viola Beach.

The accident occurred when the car in which the band were travelling in plunged more than 25m from a highway bridge into a canal.

The four band members, Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe and Jack Dakin, were in Sweden taking part in a music festival. It seems like a fitting tribute that Coldplay have just paid their respects to the band by performing one of their hits at one of the world’s largest festivals.

Coldplay took to the Pyramid stage earlier tonight and front man Chris Martin introduced the tribute.

“They just got taken away,” he said before explaining that the story affected the entire band.

Twitter users commended the band for the tribute.
