Celebrity Big Brother viewers are calling for ‘Human Ken Doll’ Rodrigo Alves’s removal from the house following his use of a racial slur.
The 35-year-old, originally from Brazil, used the N-word twice during a conversation in last night’s show.
Speaking with Gabby Allen, Natalie Nunn, and Chloe Ayling, Alves said that fellow housemate Dan Osbourne wasn’t his type because, “I like a ****** boy. He’s too white for my taste.”
Alves then repeated the racial slur after Gabby asked him what he had said.
He was given a formal warning from Big Brother but was ultimately allowed to remain in the house.
This comes after Emily Parr was immediately removed from the show in 2007 after she used the word to describe fellow housemate Charley Uchea.
Celebrity Big Brother viewers took to social media last night to call for Alves’s eviction from the house and to point out the double standards evident in Channel 5’s decision to let him stay.
Rodrigo needs to go now. You can't use language like that. And the neck on him to try to use alcohol or any other substance as an excuse. No. Just no. It's 100% unacceptable. #CBB #CBBUK

Why the HELL has Rodrigo not been removed? Anyone remember Emily Parr? I’m livid! #CBB

Alves told Big Brother later that he used the slur because he was “drunk.”
He tried to justify his language, saying:
“Last night I was very excited to be here, and I had quite a lot to drink, and I was intoxicated.
“Today I’m very hungover, and obviously I regret that, using the n-word, that was not necessary at all. It was just excitement.”
Big Brother told Alves that his level of intoxication was not relevant, before giving him a formal warning.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on TV3 at 9pm.
