Calling All Irish Singletons: RTE Want To Set You Up On a First Date

Because Tinder was getting boring.

If you’ve been unlucky in love – but feel cupid’s arrow might be randomly waiting to strike you around the grounds of Montrose – you could be the perfect candidate for First Dates.

In the most addictive reality show to be ‘borrowed’ from our UK counterparts, RTÉ2 plan on making 2016 the year of love (or lust), by introducing the First Dates series.

For those new to the format, you’ll basically be in the Big Brother of the dating world with a camera catching every awkward moment of small talk, wink or suggestive comment… because Tinder was starting to get boring.

Following the fate of a series of Irish blind daters, COCO Television are now on the hunt for participants for the series.

Think you might have a *friend* interested in taking part?

All you need is to be single, ready to sit down to a blind date and prepared to have every moment then screened on national TV.

If you’re on the search for a soulmate, or want to apply for the show, you can start your matchmaking mission by checking out the website here.

Feel free to give us first dibs on your great love affair if it all pans out.
