Caitlyn Jenner is on the Late Late this Friday and what the hell

We did not see this coming.

We thought that Ryan Tubridy had landed the high-profile interview of his career when he spoke to Hillary Clinton a few weeks ago but RTÉ has just confirmed another major guest for the Late Late. No joke - Caitlyn Jenner is going to be chatting to Ryan this Friday. The chat show confirmed this afternoon that it's landed Jenner for this Friday's show. As Bruce Jenner, he rose to fame as an athlete, winning gold in the decathlon event at the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. He went on to work as a motivational speaker in the 1980s and 90s and is probably best-known for being on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as the husband of Kris Jenner, father of Kendall and Kylie Jenner and step-dad to Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian. Bruce came out as transgender in 2015 and has transitioned to a woman, now Caitlyn.

"She will recount stories of her decades-long struggle of coming to terms with who she is, the transition from Bruce to Caitlyn and her work on transgender rights," the show said in a statement. "One year on from voting for President Trump she will discuss her disappointment at his policies including the transgender military ban. "Caitlyn will discuss her family – from her mother Esther Maguire’s Irish roots to what her relationship with the Kardashians are really like. "Caitlyn will also be welcoming a new grandchild, with the arrival of Kim and Kanye's baby via surrogate. Will she reach out to Kim to build bridges before the baby arrives? Plus will she confirm if the rumours about Kylie and Khloe’s pregnancies are true?"
